What is Virtual Reality?

Virtual reality is the use of computer technology to create simulated environments. Virtual reality places the user inside a three-dimensional experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed in and interact with 3D worlds.

The VR Headset requires training to use. Complete online training to become certified! Complete the following form to register for the online Blackboard Training.

How does Virtual Reality Work in the DLL?

Use of the headset requires training. Sign up for the online training via the Training Tab. Virtual Reality can work in one of three ways:

1. Classroom Experience
   • Students come as a class to the library to have a demo and/or to use a specific app on the headset. This has to be scheduled by a faculty member.
2. Independent Experience
   • Students can come to the library to check out an individual headset for 2 hour use in the library. Explore apps on the headset or request any free app to be downloaded.
3. 3 Day Checkout
   • We have a small number of headsets that students can checkout for 3 days. Students will log into their own account to use these. These headsets are to be reserved on the Audio/Visual Checkout tab.
