Our MakerStation has hands-on tools to explore building and coding concepts.
Our MakerStation has to following tools:
- MakeyMakey
- Creating your own interactive interface that works with Scratch software
- LittleBits
- Creating simple to complex circuits
- 3D Pens
- Creating small prototypes
A 3D pen is much like a 3D printer, except that it is done by hand instead of a computer. Once plugged in, it will begin heating up the filament. Once heated, you can choose the speed at which it dispenses. The Digital Learning Lab has 2 3D Doodle Pens available for you to use to create 3D art, prototypes, and functional designs. You can create 2D or 3D designs from your own imagination or from provided templates.
LittleBits is a library of electronic modules that connect together with tiny magnets. LittleBits is designed for all ages to promote prototyping and creativity by using modules to makes simple or complex circuits within seconds. There are a variety of modules and an infinite amount of projects to design (clap-on lights, buzzers, animatronics).

It's a little USB device you plug into your computer, and you use it to make your own switches that act like keys on the keyboard.
