Ongoing free webinars to help with getting the most out of teaching with Blackboard. Each Webinar is approximately 45 minutes.
- Ultra Course SeminarBlackboard Learn Ultra provides a modern course experience, that engages students and eases the burden on instructors. However, moving to the Ultra Course View requires preparation and support. Our Ultra Course Seminar provides you with the information and best practices to start building and preparing your course in the Ultra experience.
This seminar is comprised of two 90-minute sessions on consecutive days, where we explore the Ultra course features and functions within two primary areas:
Setting up and designing an Ultra course
Using the course for assessment, interaction, collaboration, and learner support
Participants have direct access to product experts with extensive backgrounds in education and peers who are also preparing to use the Ultra Course View.

This webinar is an excellent opportunity to discover (or revisit) best practices on using the Learn Ultra classroom to engage students, creating content and more. We will explore the Learn Ultra experience from both the learner and educator viewpoint, examining the efficient workflows Learn Ultra and the Ultra classroom tools provide.

Blackboard Student Orientation
Blackboard Ultra Orientation for Students
This course is found under the Organizations tab in the Blackboard dashboard for any students who are enrolled in an Ultra course. Instructors launching courses in Ultra send their roster to Amanda Bosch, who will enroll the students on the roster in the Ultra orientation session for that semester. Students will be introduced to the new Ultra course view and discover how to:
- Learn online
- Navigate a Blackboard Learn Site
- Submit work in Blackboard Learn
- Track their performance
At the culmination of the course, students are provided with a course summary and a downloadable document with tips for learning online. Instructors can create a brief assessment in their own Ultra course or ask students to provide a screenshot of the course summary to document their completion of the orientation course if they choose. Providing the orientation course to students will free instructors from providing instruction in how to use Ultra and focus on the content in which they are subject matter experts.
